Body Image Workshop

PBody Image Workshopiedmont Intergroup Presents
Body Image | Virtual Workshop
May 16th 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. EDT

“Before recovery, many of us were ashamed of or even hated our bodies. Most of us saw a body that didn’t match what others saw, because our vision was clouded by emotional and spiritual turmoil. One of the greatest gifts of recovery is the ability to see our bodies as they really are.”

Abstinent speakers share about body image issues & their path to recovery. Workshop will be conducted via Zoom.

UNITY DAY ▪ Feb. 29 @ 11:30am

Unity Day recognizes the strength of the Fellowship worldwide. OA members pause on February 29th at 11:30 a.m. to reaffirm the strength inherent in OA’s unity.

Tradition One: “Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends upon OA unity.”

Unity with Diversity Statement: “As we extend the heart and hand of the OA Fellowship to those who still suffer, let us be mindful of OA’s Unity with Diversity policy, which respects our differences, yet unites us in the solution to our common problem. Whatever problem you may have with food, you are welcome at a meeting, regardless of race, creed, nationality, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other trait.”

OA Promise: I put my hand in yours, and together we can do what we could never do alone. No longer is there a sense of hopelessness, no longer must we each depend upon our own unsteady willpower. We are all together now, reaching out our hands for power and strength greater than ours, and as we join hands, we find love and understanding beyond our wildest dreams.

Sponsorship Day | Aug 17-18

Celebrate Sponsorship Day August 17–18

In Overeaters Anonymous, we are told that “together we can do what we could never do alone.” Nowhere is this principle more simply and clearly practiced than in the sponsor-sponsee relationship. Sponsors help us through our program of recovery on all three levels—physical, emotional, and spiritual. By working with others, sponsors continually renew and reaffirm their own recovery.

Share your gratitude with your sponsor and sponsees!
